Sometimes the hardest changes are the ones God has already been inviting us to make. This episode explores the difference between struggling with something and continuing to choose what keeps us from living fully aligned with His purpose. Through a personal reflection on health, discipline, surrender, and stewardship, we examine how God’s conviction leads us toward freedom, growth, and a deeper commitment to honoring Him in every area of life.
This episode is a heartfelt and deeply personal conversation about the difference between a genuine struggle and a repeated choice — especially when God has been lovingly nudging us toward change for a long time. Kathy shares how a recent prayer asking God to reveal anything standing between her and His purpose led to conviction surrounding her physical health, discipline, and stewardship. Together, we explore the connection between spiritual wellness and physical wellness, why delayed obedience matters, and how habits can quietly become obstacles to the life God is calling us into. This episode is not about perfection or shame — it’s about alignment, surrender, and honoring God with every aspect of our lives. If you’ve ever felt stuck in patterns you know you need to change, this conversation will encourage you to stop negotiating with conviction and start moving toward freedom.

🌿 When Conviction Becomes an Invitation to Change
There are moments in our lives when we know something needs to change. Maybe it is a habit we have struggled with for years, a pattern we continue to repeat, or an area where God has been gently drawing our attention. The challenge is that knowing what needs to change and being willing to surrender it are two very different things.
One of the most important distinctions we can make is the difference between a genuine struggle and a repeated choice. Struggles are real, and God meets us with grace in our weaknesses. But there are also times when we have become comfortable negotiating with the very things God is asking us to release.
Conviction is one of the ways God lovingly leads us. It is not meant to produce shame or make us feel defeated—it is an invitation toward freedom. When God reveals an area that is out of alignment, He is not trying to take something from us; He is inviting us into something better.
This applies deeply to our health and wellness. The way we care for our bodies, manage our habits, and practice discipline is connected to stewardship. Our physical health is not separate from our spiritual life. God created us as whole beings, and honoring Him includes caring for every part of who we are.
Delayed obedience can be a subtle obstacle in our growth. We may tell ourselves we will change "someday," when life slows down, when we feel more motivated, or when circumstances are easier. But sometimes the next step of faith is simply responding to what God has already made clear.
Discipline is often viewed negatively, but biblical discipline is rooted in love. It is not about punishment or perfection—it is about alignment. It is choosing what leads to life over what keeps us stuck. It is recognizing that freedom often comes through surrender.
The goal is not to become a perfect version of ourselves. The goal is to become more aligned with the person God created us to be. When we stop resisting His invitation and begin walking in obedience, we make room for growth, healing, and transformation.
God’s conviction is not a condemnation of who we are. It is a loving invitation to become who we were created to be.
